In this learning experience, through discussion and role-play, participants explore:

  • A new model for leaders as impartial facilitators of conflict resolution
  • Conditions that make a given workplace conflict appropriate for leader-facilitated conflict resolution
  • How people perceive and respond during conflict and during reconciliation, to comprehend the conditions necessary to promote resolution.
  • Management of the behavioral reflexes exhibited by those in conflict to promote successful resolution
  • Management of expectations for those who participate in leader-facilitated conflict resolution
  • The predictable stages of workplace conflict resolution

Whether you are a new or a seasoned academic leader this training provides an opportunity to reflect on the roles and responsibilities of leaders concerning workplace conflict, while also practicing and connecting with other academic leaders.

The workshop spans two half-days. For in-person sessions lunch is provided. In-person sessions are recommended for those in the College Station area. A ZOOM version of the workshop is available, with preference given to those from TAMU locations outside of College Station.

Units that wish to host a unit-exclusive program should contact facultydevelopment@tamu.edu to schedule a discussion of this option. This is subject to the guaranteed attendance of a sufficient size audience of academic leaders.

IMPORTANT: Seats in each workshop, both formats, are limited.  Given the interactive nature and use of role-play, etc. under-subscribed sessions may be subject to cancelation. Engaged attendance of the entire workshop is required to earn a certificate.
