APT to Lead

APT to Lead is cohort-based learning community for Academic Professional Track (APT) faculty members wherein they explore their skills and dispositions as leaders.

Faculty Aspiring Leadership Program

The Faculty Aspiring Leadership Program offers strategic development of faculty across campus to sustain transformative change through individual and organizational skill building. Program Fellows are emerging leaders with the potential to impact the institution and build a portfolio of leadership experience.

Faculty Development Leave

Faculty Development Leave allows full-time tenured faculty the opportunity to develop professionally in order to expand their impact as scholars.

Faculty Conversation Café

Faculty Conversation Café is typically held in-person on the first Friday of each month from 8:30-10 a.m. The Zoom option is offered 8:30-9:30 a.m. the day before (Thursday) for faculty that are unable to attend the in-person eventJoin us for discussions about topics that pertain to faculty.

Faculty Development Series

Faculty Affairs hosts monthly sessions focused on informational and development opportunities for faculty.

Faculty Mentoring Academy (CTE)

To promote a culture of mentoring within and across the university, the Texas A&M Center for Teaching Excellence provides evidence-based mentoring workshops to enhance faculty mentoring capacity and competency.

Faculty Retirement

Faculty considering retirement have multiple resources available to them as they preparing for their career transition, and Faculty Affairs encourages their continued engagement with Texas A&M post-retirement.

Fellowships and Grants

Faculty Affairs oversees fellowships and grants in partnership with other entities. These opportunities allow faculty to further advance their careers.

Generating Professional Success (GPS) on the Academic Professional Track

This two-day program encourages APT faculty to start early and be intentional about their approach to their next promotion.

Got Tenure! Now What?

The "Got Tenure! Now What?" workshop helps recently tenured faculty begin their journey to full professor by identifying successful strategies.

Graduate Student Mentoring Academy

The Graduate and Professional School provides graduate research mentoring development opportunities for faculty along with graduate and professional students to improve their mentor and mentee skills.

Mid-Career Accelerator

The Mid-Career Accelerator is a learning community for tenured mid-career faculty to build a personalized plan for maintaining professional success.

New Faculty Orientation

New Faculty Orientation provides new Texas A&M faculty members the tools and resources to initiate successful careers in Aggieland.

Promotion & Tenure Informational Presentations

In order to facilitate the preparation of packages and dossiers for the promotion and tenure review cycle, Faculty Affairs hosts regular workshops for prospective candidates. View the slides here.

Roadmap for a Successful Tenure-Track Academic Career

This two-day program encourages early career tenure-track faculty to start early and be intentional as they plan for mid-term review and tenure dossier submission.

Successful Conflict Conversations

To build a conflict competent campus, Successful Conflict Conversations provides a model for resolving workplace conflict through intentional conversation and offers the opportunity to reflect on your role in a successful conflict conversation, while also practicing and connecting with other academics. This program is for faculty and academic staff who want to build their conflict competence in the workplace through self-facilitated resolution.

Third-Party Conflict Resolution for Leaders

Third-Party Conflict Resolution for Leaders provides an opportunity to reflect on the roles and responsibilities of leaders concerning workplace conflict, while also practicing and connecting with other academic leaders. Whether you serve as the director of an academic unit or you supervise others in any setting, you will benefit from learning how to set expectations for a successful conflict conversation.

The “Talk Saves Lives” suicide prevention presentation is intended to equip university community members with the knowledge and confidence to help reduce stigmas and prevent suicide. This virtual presentation will take place on Oct. 29.

As part of the Instructional Excellence Project, applications are open for the CTE's spring Association of College and University Educators cohort. This 6-week course is titled "Inspiring Inquiry and Preparing Lifelong Learners" and the application deadline is Jan. 7.
