The University Mediation & Neutrality Network (UMNN) is a university-wide network of mediators charged with:

  • Supporting a conflict resolution culture across colleges
  • Bringing consistency and professionalism to conflict-based interactions
  • Collaborating on identification and strategic solving of challenges
  • Elevating cross-college issues for transparency and initiation of collaborative resolution

If you would like to request mediation support, please contact Faculty Affairs at facultyaffairs@tamu.edu.

Process for Requesting Mediation

Initiation of Mediation:

Formal mediation may be initiated by either a college or a faculty member. Colleges may utilize trained mediators within their own units or request mediators from the Texas A&M University Mediation & Neutrality Network. A university mediator will be assigned from outside the college involved in mediation.

Request Procedure:

To initiate mediation a request must be submitted through Faculty Affairs. Requests may be submitted by disputants, department heads, and/or deans.

Note: To ensure proper selection protocols and confidential tracking, mediation requests should not be made directly to individual mediators within the University Mediation & Neutrality Network. If approached, mediators may assist in navigating the appropriate requesting process.
